Beyoncé's surprise birthday guest was a supreme choice.

The "Virgo's Groove" singer, 42, celebrated another year around the sun on Monday during night three of her Renaissance World Tour stop at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

After putting her all onto the stage, Diana Ross appeared to perform her hit "Love Hangover" for Beyoncé.

Ross also recruited the celebrity-packed audience to sing "Happy Birthday" to the 42-year-old. "I’m here to celebrate Beyoncé’s birthday," she declared as a tearful Beyoncé wrapped her arms around the singer.

"Thank you so much. You are so amazing. This is the legendary Diana Ross," Beyoncé told Ross afterward.

Kanye West and his “wife” Bianca Censori have reportedly been banned from a Venice boat company following recent behaviour on board one of its vessels.

The rapper, who legally changed his name to “Ye” in 2021, was photographed with Australian architectural designer Censori enjoying a boat ride in Venice at the end of August.

However, some of the pictures showed the pair in a somewhat compromising position. West, 46, was snapped with his trousers down and his bottom exposed, while Censori, 28, appeared to be crouching between his legs.

Following the release of the photos, the boat company issued a statement declaring that the famous couple are no longer welcome on future trips. Both West and Censori have been banned from using the company’s services.

Gary Wright, the musician best known for his hit singles “Dream Weaver” and “Love Is Alive,” has died. He was 80. Wright’s son Dorian confirmed the news to Variety; no cause of death was announced.

Yet he will be best remembered for the mid-1970s hits mentioned above, which were part of a vaguely mystical, synthesizer-driven style of hit single of the era — Steve Miller’s “Fly Like an Eagle” is another example — and which saw him appearing on many music shows, wearing satin gear and rocking a keytar.

First lady Jill Biden tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday and is experiencing “mild symptoms,” the White House said. President Joe Biden has tested negative.

The diagnosis has upended the first lady’s plans to begin teaching the fall semester at Northern Virginia Community College on Tuesday. She is working with the school to “ensure her classes are covered by a substitute,” Vanessa Valdivia, the first lady’s spokesperson, said.

Dr. Biden, who remains at the family’s home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, typically teaches on Tuesday and Thursdays.

Travelers looking to rent an apartment for a few days in New York City will find slimmer pickings now that city officials have started enforcing new rules cracking down on short-term rentals.

The rules, which are being enforced as of Tuesday, mean a whole lot of listings on sites such as Airbnb will no longer be available for stays of less than 30 days unless property owners have gone through the city’s application process and received approval in the form of an official registration number.

Airbnb has called the rules a “de facto ban” on short-term rentals (STRs) that will hurt hosts and the tourism economy. The city says it’s enforcing existing laws and protecting the health and safety of visitors as well as preventing housing from “being lost to the practice of illegal STRs,” according to official documents.
